Job Description:

The Lighting Designer will be an integral part of our production team, responsible for conceptualizing and executing lighting designs that enhance and complement our diverse events. This role requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise, ensuring each event is visually impactful and aligns with Murmrr’s artistic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative lighting concepts tailored to a wide range of events.
  • Design and execute lighting plots, including positioning and programming of lights.
  • Operate lighting consoles during live events, making adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with event coordinators, artists, and technical teams.
  • Ensure all lighting designs adhere to safety standards and venue protocols.
  • Participate in rehearsals and make real-time adjustments for optimal effect.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of lighting equipment.
  • Remain current with industry trends and advancements in lighting technology.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in lighting design, preferably in a live event setting.
  • Strong knowledge of modern lighting equipment and control systems.
  • Ability to translate artistic concepts into compelling visual designs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different event styles and artist requirements.
  • Familiarity with safety and electrical standards in event settings.
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position with expected hours of no more than 30 per week. Work location is in person at our Brooklyn, NY office. Pay rate ranges from $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
