Job Description:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Application Developer for the Office of Information Technology at Continuing Studies (ITaCS). This position will report to the Senior Application Developer at the Office of Information Technology. This position will work as a collaborative member of the Application Development Team (ADT) within ITaCS, DoCS, and with all other technical teams throughout the University.
Key duties:
- Contributes to the maintenance, testing, coding, implementation, deployment, and development of websites and custom online applications
- Assists in and provides technical advice to the Application Team Lead on various projects
- Enhances user experience, application architecture, prototyping, and site layout/interface using HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, XML, JSON, PHP, JavaScript, PHP, React Native, Vue, React, and other developer tools and languages
- Documents and versions all work using version software such as GIT
- Works collaboratively with all members of the ITaCS to support user needs around custom applications
- Advises on content creation and deploys web hosting servers
- Assists in server deployment and configuration
- Serves as project manager for annual Mobile application deployment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or related field
- 2+ years of programming experience with solid knowledge of current programming languages and methodologies
- Strong knowledge of HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, JSP, CSS/CSS3, Java, PHP
- Ability to work within Linux environment and in a UNIX environment
- Experience with PHP or other object-oriented programming language
- Strong knowledge of MVC architecture and REST
- Working knowledge of GIT and plain old Javascript
- Ability to understand and write basic SQL queries
- Desire to learn and implement new design patterns
- 3+ years of web programming experience preferred
- Experience working in UNIX/LINUX environments and on a team preferred
- Experience with XML, JSON, Laravel or Symphony frameworks, Bootstrap 3, GIT, javascript, jQuery, Vue.Js or Svelte preferred

- Annual Minimum Salary: $76,341.00
- Annual Mid Range Salary: $96,571.50
- Annual Maximum Salary: $116,802.00
