Job Description:

The company is seeking a UX Designer to work on a contract basis for a minimum of 6 months. The role involves conducting user research, participating in design strategy activities, and communicating design solutions through wireframes and prototypes using programs such as Figma. The UX Designer will also be responsible for visualizing concepts, planning and executing usability studies, and iterating on designs based on user feedback. Strong leadership skills and knowledge of current design and technology trends are preferred.

Requirements:

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in user research and UX design.
• Experience with programs such as Figma (strongly preferred), Axure, Balsamiq, Sketch or Adobe XD.
• Ability to visualize concepts and design through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Familiarity with human-centered design principles and best practices.
• Experience conducting usability studies and developing experience maps.
• Knowledge of current design and technology trends, cognitive psychology, and human-machine interaction.
• Ability to structure, organize, and label information in a user-friendly manner.
• Experience iterating on designs based on user feedback.
• Strong advocacy for human-centered design and the ability to build relationships.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills are preferred.
• Experience creating design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of programming and complex data systems is desired.
• Experience leading projects or teams is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, a master’s degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience in the User Experience Design field can be used to substitute education.
• Must be able to work in-person in Detroit, MI on a hybrid schedule.

Additional Information:

The role is a contract position and the hourly pay rate is up to $40.00. The working schedule is an 8-hour shift. Experience with UI, UX, and Figma is required. This role is only open to local candidates in Detroit, MI and does not provide visa sponsorship. Virtual interviews will be conducted.
