Job Description:

At Secret Door, we are looking for a motivated UI Artist with experience in UI animation and VFX to join our team. This temporary role will report directly to our Art Director and involve partnering with developers to improve the overall user experience by creating visual effects and animations for our user interface. The candidate will interpret mockups and wireframes to bring ideas to life through VFX and 2D UI animation, and collaborate with the development team to deliver the best player experience.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong VFX and animation skills, specifically in UI for video games
• Experience creating a wide range of UI VFX that convey key gameplay concepts and celebrate player moments
• Understanding of UI confirmation & reinforcement, color and motion, and creating textures and geometry for stylized VFX
• Ability to understand user experience and design intentions when building user interfaces
• Attention to detail and the ability to deliver a highly polished experience
• Good time-management, communication, and organization skills
• Familiarity with Unity, especially Unity’s UI tools and animation methods
• Experience optimizing art assets for performance while maintaining image fidelity
• Demonstrated knowledge of graphic layout principles, particularly around animation and VFX

Additional Information:

• The role is temporary with an estimated duration of 6 months, with potential for an extension based on business needs
• Application Materials required include a portfolio demonstrating work in UI, as well as VFX and Animation reels
• The base salary range for this position is $72,786 to $121,310 USD per year, associated with the Level 2 salary band
