Job Description

Position: Sound + Video Supervisor @ Bay Street Theater - Summer 2024

Compensation: $1,200 weekly

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: The position is on-site, in Sag Harbor, NY. Housing is available.

Schedule: The work schedule is determined by Production Manager. This position requires regular evening and weekend work in conjunction with BSTs performance calendar. This is a seasonal position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Assisstant Sound + Video Supervisor helps to manage day-to-day operations of the sound department.
• Coordinate with sound designers, supervising the hang/circuiting/focus of the sound plots including coordinating rentals.
• Maintain and strike the sound plots and venue inventory.
• Provide audio and video support to three mainstage shows, concerts, and any other special events requiring sound support.
• Maintain expense budgets, communicate closely with designers and design assistants, and hire and supervise sound personnel.
• Set up sound shop at the beginning of the season and restore sound shop at the end of the season.
• Consult with Designers and Design Assistants to ensure design completion and labor efficiency.
• Work directly with Sound + Video/Projection Designers.
• Attend tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and previews for notes.
• Communicate regularly with Production Stage Manager.
• Attend all necessary production meetings as determined by the Production Manager.
• Oversee sound and video needs for other summer season programs including Music Mondays, the New Works Festival, and others special events/projects.
• Must have a working knowledge of the CL5 Sound Console and Qlab 5.
• Candidates should be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, work safely, efficiently, and quickly, and exhibit professional behavior at all times.
• Strong organizational skills are required with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional non-traditional hours.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in high places.
