Job Description:

This position is a work-trade opportunity where you will work closely with Brian Hall, a producer and writer of songs, both in the sync licensing music industry and as a member of the band TENTS. The job has two main aspects:

1. Sync Licensing Music: You will be Brian Hall’s understudy, learning his process and gaining his perspective on working in the industry. Your responsibilities may include producing, mixing, editing, toplining, performing, and engineering.
2. TENTS Band Member: You will join TENTS as an engineer and musician, supporting Brian Hall in setting up for sessions, running headphone mixes, prepping and managing the playback rig, and micing drums. This role will require some session prep and may involve rehearsing, tracking, filming, and occasional live performances.

This is not an internship or a paid position, but it offers a work-trade arrangement where you will share equity in sync projects.

Requirements:

• Comfortable performing on camera
• Interest in sync licensing music
• Availability, motivation, and determination to succeed
• Humble and easy to work with
• Skilled musician in the indie/pop/rock genre with the ability to play simple parts in pocket and on key. Instruments of potential use include drums, percussion, bass, guitar, and keys.
• Experience in producing, mixing, and engineering, preferably with familiarity in using Allen and Heath console, Logic Pro X, and Ableton Live
• Ability to relocate to Portland, OR 97216 before starting work

About Brian Hall:

Brian Hall is a Portland-based producer and writer of songs. He plays in a band called TENTS with his wife and has more than 15 years of experience in the sync licensing music industry.
