Job Description:

SCRUM Theatre is seeking a zappy, entrepreneurial and creative producer who’s looking for a challenging role with the opportunity for long-term growth of a full-time position. In an initial three-month contract, the Producer will deliver three projects integral to the launch of our tour of Twelfth Night in late 2024: an R&D week, a fundraiser, and a strategy report. If successful, the role is intended to transition after three months into a long-term Company Producer, and then to transition after a subsequent nine months into an executive role within the charity.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in theatre production and project management
  • Passion for collaborative processes and a principled commitment to labour ethics
  • Open to applicants from a range of approaches and backgrounds

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a paid week of R&D towards the Company’s 2024 touring production
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a fundraiser event
  • Create a strategy document for the delivery of the Twelfth Night tour in late 2024
  • Form relationships with the whole collective, and most especially the Co-Leads and Board of Trustees

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven professional experience with producing nationally-touring theatre in the UK or events management or innovative project leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production, Arts Management, or a related field
  • Affinity for the mission and charitable objects of SCRUM
  • Passion for collaboration and working collectively
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Interest in the cultural and financial state of UK Theatre
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with writing contracts and fundraising

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of working with community theatre and arts education projects
  • Experience of working with meanwhile spaces
  • Thorough network of contacts across the theatre sector
  • Experience in writing successful ACE applications
  • Working relationships with venues across the UK
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Monday.com, and forms.app
