Job Description

Join our team of badass creatives as a WordPress Designer/Developer. You will build and maintain websites on the WordPress platform that are modern and clean, easy to navigate, responsive for mobile/tablet, and SEO optimized for assigned clients. This is a part-time contract position with the potential to grow into full-time and/or other agency roles. All folks are welcome, including people who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain full websites on the WordPress platform
• Build out WordPress sites, working from a website outline and based on aesthetics determined by creative directors and the client
• Implement and maintain themes and plugins
• Add basic technical SEO components (e.g. meta)
• Integrate Google Analytics, Google Ads, social media accounts, Google Map APIs, and pop-up forms
• Create staging sites and migrate sites to live domains
• Set up DNS records and SSL certificates on SiteGround and/or other hosting platforms

Requirements

• Must have the ability to problem-solve, researching/resolving complex WordPress issues autonomously when needed
• Experience and high-level understanding of the WordPress platform
• Good understanding of SEO practices
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Ability to manage back-end, including DNS records, nameservers, FTP clients, and cPanel
• High attention to detail and design/aesthetic sense
• Ability to meet deadlines, accurately track time, and communicate effectively
• Appreciation of weird humor is a plus
