We’re looking for someone to join our Lifelong Learning Service, delivering as a Programme Developer with a focus on Raising Participation in Sheffield. If you are passionate about Post 16 education; working with others to build sustainable education progression pathways and you are entrepreneurial in your thinking, we’d love to hear from you.
We are recruiting a Programme Developer to aid our ambitions to ensure people, particularly those aged 16-18, are prepared for work and life through the delivery of high impact learning, skills and employment solutions. The focus of this role is to encourage the development or improvement of education programmes for the city which support learning, skills and enterprise pathways. The programmes must be high quality and of mutual benefit to young people (aged 16-18) and employers in our local economy. To achieve this, partnership working with education organisations (internal and external to the council), employers and other key services is essential. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has proven experience of effective multi-agency and partnership working across education, business and skills.
Experience of operational management within an education and training environment is important to this role as well as experience of supervising and managing staff within an education setting. In addition to experience of direct staff management, this role requires someone with the ability to manage and direct the work of other education organisations and services within the city, particularly where service improvement is needed. This is a very varied and rewarding role. This work is delivered either in the education settings across the city, visiting employer premises, home or office based, which is currently in the city centre. Whilst this role is based in Sheffield, there is an expectation of working across South Yorkshire and occasionally, visiting areas outside of South Yorkshire.

Additional Information:
- The role is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31/10/2024
- Salary is Grade 09 (£44,428 to £48,474)
