Job Description:

The Product Designer II works under the direction of the Team Lead – Product Design to define, design, document, communicate and maintain the visual design of Next Generation Point of Sale System. The goal is to improve the performance of our applications against our key KPIs. The Product Designer is accountable for design process implementation and related artifacts. The Product Designer collaborates with business area(s), IS, and technology vendors to help set and execute the design vision for software development projects.

General Responsibilities:

• Produce, document, and communicate effective UX designs for multiple interfaces
• Definition and deployment of UI styles and patterns
• Collaborate with business customers to discuss user experience projects and future design direction
• Participate in design reviews with the business community
• Demonstrate solid understanding of Agile UX methodologies
• Research and evaluate emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends
• Ensure overall quality of solutions throughout the design process
• Present work to cross-functional teams and executive leadership
• Coordinate with technical delivery managers, business analysts, solution architects, and development leads
• Seek opportunities to solve problems in unique and innovative ways

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of product design experience (quick service retail experience is a plus)
• Portfolio demonstrating evidence of shipping world-class experiences
• Fluency in contemporary product design and prototyping tools (we use Figma)
• Deep commitment to craft, visual design, and overall product excellence
• Strong systems-thinking skills
• Experience conducting user research and using data to inform design iterations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency working within and contributing to an enterprise-level design system
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Positive, proactive approach to work

Desired Skills:

• Prior experience in web application design
• Understanding of key technologies used in software development (HTML5, CSS, Javascript)

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong Interaction Design skills: wireframing, prototyping, and animation; HTML5 and CSS3 a plus
• Experience with Android/Material Design principles: GUI design & usability
• Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
• Understanding and ability to participate in and lead solutions design
• Ability to work on multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
