Job Description

The Social and Digital Media Strategist will play an active role in the development of Y? Entertainment and its staff’s online community. They will maintain Y? Entertainment’s presence on various social media platforms and help create and publish relevant content. The strategist will also assist in obtaining and maintaining Y? Entertainment’s archive of digital images, videos, and other content. They will learn how to reach communities, promote events or programs through the internet, and gain experience in social media platforms and performance assessment tools.

Responsibilities and Duties

Social Media:

  • Update company Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter accounts
  • Respond to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions
  • Post updates, news, and announcements promptly
  • Perform research to find relevant content and engage in conversation
  • Update social media accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content
  • Grow online social networks by increasing fan base and interactions
  • Maintain current information in Google+ and LinkedIn accounts
  • Complete other social media projects as assigned

Digital Media:

  • Take pictures and videos of events for website and social media
  • Upload photos and videos to appropriate server or DropBox
  • Organize and archive digital images and videos
  • Complete other digital media projects as assigned

Research:

  • Regularly observe online activity of model organizations
  • Research and report on “social media best practices”
  • Complete other research projects as assigned

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Use Google Analytics, Instagram Analytics, TikTok Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Twitter Analytics to assess trends and activity
  • Review data on the performance of social media platforms and adjust plans or strategies

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:

  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in Communications or related field (can be currently working on)
  • 2+ years of experience in social media/marketing
  • Experience with Apple and/or Microsoft applications, basic photo editing and video editing software, and internet browsers
  • Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus
  • Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms
  • Available to work 15 hours per week

This is a part-time internship and it requires the candidate to use their own computer. The candidate should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities. Most importantly, the candidate should be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks in a variety of locations and environments. This opportunity will benefit someone interested in marketing, entertainment, community relations, and audience development.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week

Benefits: Flexible schedule
