Join our talented User Centred Design team at Social Security Scotland, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the end-to-end journey of services to empower users and drive policy delivery. As a Senior Content Designer, you’ll lead the way in developing content strategies, mentoring teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure user-centric solutions. Job Description:

  • Creating and iterating content for end-to-end services to simplify complex language and processes, while guiding others as needed.
  • Implementing appropriate content styles and standards independently.
  • Identifying, analysing, managing, and monitoring relationships with stakeholders, using evidence to explain decisions and balancing competing priorities.
  • Leading the design and implementation of content strategies, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborating with user researchers to understand user needs based on evidence and proposing design approaches or services to meet these needs.
  • Providing recommendations on the best content design tools and methods to use.
  • Utilising content management systems, content patterns, and prototypes effectively.
  • Planning and developing content for required business areas and contributing to the agency’s content strategy.
  • Reviewing content against digital standards and guidelines and participating in user research activities.
  • Building collaborative relationships within the broader Social Security content community and contributing to the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology community.

Person Specification:

  1. Extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability of planning and creating accessible user-centred content
  2. Proven experience in using data and user feedback to define and refine content
  3. Proven experience of managing relationships with stakeholders
  4. Experience in working with content management systems

  • Salary: ÂŁ44,557 - ÂŁ53,351
