Job Description

The Ranger Group, a leading US Engineering Solutions provider, is seeking a CAD Designer for a contract-to-hire role in the Fort Worth Area. This role requires 100% onsite work.

The Designer II is responsible for contributing to product design projects, developing AutoCAD drawings, and creating engineering documentation. They must be familiar with CAD fundamentals, ANSI drawing standards, and Microsoft Office applications. They work alongside an Engineer or supervisor to formulate required documents and provide high-quality, accurate documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Contribute to design concepts, complete layouts, and produce drawings using 2D & 3D AutoCAD programs.
2. Create required documentation using Microsoft Office software products (e.g., BOMs, ECRs, ECNs, Process Specifications).
3. Operate within established PCI Design and Documentation standards.
4. Correspond with customers, vendors, and internal customers regarding design, drawing, or documentation issues.
5. Have a good grasp of project management, company processes, and cost to contribute to the design process.

Education/Experience Requirement

1. High school education.
2. Thorough understanding of manufacturing methods, including sheet metal/extruded aluminum manufacturing processes, manufacturing tolerances, and associated costs.
3. Associate Degree in CAD is a plus.
4. Thorough understanding of 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor.
5. General understanding of Documentation Control Standards and operates within established PCI Design and Documentation standards.
6. Strong contributor to continuously improving processes within the department.
7. Thorough understanding of drafting ANSI standard principles.

Specific Skills Required

1. Skilled with MS Excel, MS Word, and AutoCAD.
2. Good communication skills at all levels.
3. Highly organized & detail-oriented.
4. Leadership qualities required to mentor lower level Designer I.
