Job Description:
Looking for a UX designer to join one of our client’s team, focused on a product redesign and re-platform. The position requires detailed visual and interface design, with some support for research, development, definition work, and exploratory concepting. You will be creating and evolving new features and functionality, working closely with development teams to bring the application to life for complex products. Also, you will be involved in client research, training, and service definition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in UX, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or related field
- 1-5 years of professional UX/UI experience, working within an enterprise or agency environment
- Experience creating desktop/responsive web applications
- Working familiarity with some flavor of UI tools: Figma, Sketch, InVision, Abstract, Zeplin, etc.
- Flexibility to handle various design tasks including concepting, research, visual design
- Strong communication and conceptual thinking abilities
- Experience working directly with subject matter experts, stakeholder teams, or research participants to translate their needs into design outputs
- Current online portfolio that demonstrates solving client problems — a URL to work examples must be provided for consideration
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working within established design systems
- Experience in storyboarding/writing, data visualizations, animation, usability studies
- Financial services experience is nice to have, but not required
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Be a champion for user-centered design and the client voice
- Uncover user needs through discovery sessions with teams across the bank and research with employees and clients
- Quickly generate concepts and communicate them to various audiences through hand sketches, digital prototypes, or motion examples
- Implement brand-appropriate design based on existing design systems and UX best practices
- Manage feedback from business teams, clients, and product to find practical, useful design solutions
- Create production-ready UI that represents the approved design, and collaborate with developers to build a good experience
Additional Information:
- The role is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite in downtown Chicago
- Normal work hours are 8:30am - 5pm CST
