Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Design Manager to join our team in Manchester for an interim position. The successful candidate will oversee the design process of a multistory project valued at circa 45 million, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to develop design briefs, specifications, and deliverables.
• Review and approve design proposals, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with project objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, resolving any design-related issues or challenges that may arise.
• Monitor project progress, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role within the construction or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, techniques, and software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
