Job Description:

This position is a 16-month contract as a maternity leave replacement, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. You will be part of Tefron’s Design Team, a diverse group of creative and strategic thinkers, who are passionate about creating purpose-led products for the activewear and intimates market. In this role, you will be responsible for designing seasonal assortments, managing communication with overseas offices, aligning with customer calendars, and working alongside cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will prepare trend presentations, mentor junior designers, and participate in key meetings.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of industry experience
  • BA, BFA, or BS in Design, or equivalent
  • Comfortable working with Adobe Suites platforms
  • Understanding of 3D design is an asset
  • Experience working in a PLM system
  • Expert in technical knowledge and design ability
  • Expert knowledge of the U.S. apparel industry, with a focus on activewear and intimates
  • Razor-sharp attention to detail
  • Awareness of current product performance in stores
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to innovate
  • Ability to travel

This position has the potential for extension and/or permanency. The Design Team values cross-functional relationships, open feedback, and prioritizes team connection. They practice continual innovation of product and provide mentorship to junior designers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of product lines, white space opportunities, and the balance between function and style. The ability to build beautiful technical apparel with attention to detail is crucial. Travel is required for this role.
