Job Description:

The state is seeking a UI/UX Designer with expertise in designing and prototyping desktop and mobile applications. The responsibilities for this role include:

1. Working on various stages of the product development process from discovery to research to design user interface.
2. Participating in meetings with stakeholders, business users, and engineering teams to understand and project UI requirements.
3. Working with project managers, developers, and business analysts to brainstorm ideas, approaches, and design solutions.
4. Creating wireframes, prototypes, and user-friendly designs that support complex business processes.
5. Testing and iterating various product concepts with users and conducting research to validate the design.
6. Ensuring that user interface and experience designs follow best practices and comply with security requirements.
7. Participating in backlog grooming sessions and other agile ceremonies to ensure successful implementation of UI design.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience translating user interface requirements into graphical interfaces for applications.
• Proficiency of at least 8 years in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including familiarity with JavaScript frameworks.
• Advanced understanding of site architecture and the ability to design intuitive user interfaces and navigations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using designer tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in designing and delivering products as part of a cross-functional team.
• Exposure to ASP.NET C# language and implementing secure UI design and coding practices for ASP.NET MVC applications.

• This is a W2 only role.
• Hybrid/onsite work is required.
• A background check conducted by the state is required.
• Strong communication, leadership, influence, collaboration, and negotiation experience is desired.
• Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines.
• Ability to communicate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders, lead discussions and creative activities, and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.
• Ability to lead and manage large design initiatives, including managing competing priorities with product and engineering peers.

Job Type, Pay & Schedule:

• Job Type: Contract
• Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 40 per week
• Experience level: 6 years to 8 years
• Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
