Job Description
The Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and producing graphic material for promotional and educational projects. This includes creating newsletters, marketing collateral, and website design. The Graphic Designer will collaborate with internal clients to ensure timely delivery of quality graphical material.
Primary Duties
- Design and develop graphic material for departmental projects
- Interact with internal clients to understand needs and timeframe
- Create design concepts and review work until finished products are delivered
- Create layouts and formatting for instructional, promotional, and web-based materials
- Review and recommend new software and hardware requirements
- Identify and interface with outside vendors when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, Visual Arts, or related field
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in graphic design or visual design
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal
- HTML and CSS proficiency
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Additional Information
- This position is part-time, with a work schedule of .50% FTE
- Salary range: $32,000 - $35,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
