Job Description:

VENTETE is a London-based invention company focused on cycling and fashion. We are looking for a skilled full stack developer to join our team and lead the next phase of our e-commerce website and the web development function overall. As an early hire, this role will have a massive impact on the trajectory of our company. The successful applicant should be excited to contribute broadly, beyond the traditional scope of web development, by partnering closely and frequently with commercial and creative teams. The candidate should be design-oriented, with strong composition abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress is essential, with experience in email HTML being a plus. This is a part-time position based in Hackney, London, starting at 2 days a week with a potential to increase work hours as the website launches. This role will report to the Head of Brand.

Requirements:

• 5+ years working in web development
• Expert in JavaScript, PHP, CSS/HTML, and WordPress
• Proficiency with Adobe Suite applications
• Experience with Shopify
• Thrived in a startup environment before
• Prior experience leading a team is a plus
• Demonstrated interest in cycling, design, and fashion a plus

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development roadmap and ensure the brand’s overall strategy aligns with the capabilities of our key digital channels: web and email.
• Work with the Head of Brand and Head of Sales & Growth to set the vision for the next evolution of the website, define project scopes and specifications, and provide input into UX/UI designs.
• Build and update core website pages, landing pages, microsites, and email templates to support VENTETE’s launch and post-launch end-user experiences.
• Review current website design, code, and hosting solutions to recommend and implement potential improvements to loading speed, conversion, and other key metrics.
• Partner cross functionally to optimise key web metrics through data-driven inputs and A/B testing.
• Develop website performance testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices.
• Maintain and implement 3rd party integrations, e.g, Shopify, Klaviyo, reviews platform.
• In time, build out the web development function, setting a hiring roadmap and managing direct reports.
