Job Description

Wave International is seeking a Junior Designer - Mechanical or Structural to join our Brisbane Team. The successful candidate will be involved in various projects in the mining industry. Duties in this role will include:

• Maintaining and updating correct and current information on existing drawings
• Ensuring quality of designs are reviewed and meeting standards and deadlines
• Contributing to the design and drafting of engineering projects for construction, taking projects from concept to manufacture
• Verifying dimensions, nesting, fault finding and troubleshooting
• Managing the documentation of production drawings & bill of materials (BOM)
• Providing a high level of customer service in relation to engineering services to internal and external customers

Requirements

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Basic knowledge of mechanical parts and structural components
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and maintain technical records
• Ability to work to a high standard while still adhering to strict deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent time management
• Previous experience in a similar industry would be advantageous but not essential
