Job Description
The Associated Press is looking for a visual journalist in New York City to deliver spot, sports, and enterprise imagery that breaks news and has a worldwide impact. The role involves covering spot news, enterprise stories, and sporting events as part of a team of journalists and editors. The position is temporary, lasting eight months through the end of 2024.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, such as at least three years of full-time experience as a photographer at a daily newspaper, broadcast station, online or digital news outlet, or an AP bureau.
- Ability to work in the U.S. or obtain permission to do so.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; fluency in another language is a plus.
- Advanced-level professional competency in photography and photo editing.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
