Job Description
This music ministry opening involves providing organ and piano music for worship services, weddings, funerals, and community events at The Episcopal Parish of St. Clement in Honolulu, HI. The role includes collaborating with the priest, other worship ministers, music committee, choir, and congregation members.
Requirements
Education, skills, and ability should demonstrate a professional musical talent derived from training and experience. The ideal candidate should have a thorough working knowledge of The Episcopal Church worship services, a theological understanding of church music within a Hawaiian setting, and the ability to communicate effectively and friendly manner with various parties.
Ministry Performance Requirements
- Provide professional organ and piano music for all worship services and special events
- Foster congregational singing through hymn execution
- Facilitate unique musical offerings and encourage congregation members’ musical participation
- Adhere to music selection processes and assist in maintaining musical instruments
- Attend planning meetings, practices, and services regularly
Musical Instruments
The organ is an Austin Pipe Organ 2045 with three manuals, and the piano is a Boston by Steinway Parlor Grand Piano at the church’s disposal.
