Job Description
The Chief Technology Organization at American Express is seeking a frontend engineer with 4+ years of React experience to work on their One CMS, Navigation, and Search platforms. Responsibilities include developing user-facing features, building reusable components, translating designs into code, optimizing performance, and working in an agile team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or 1+ years of related experience
- Strong JavaScript and CSS skills, including DOM manipulation
- Proficiency in CSS2/CSS3
- Knowledge of Accessibility and Web Standards
- Experience with Responsive and Adaptive Web Design
- Understanding of React.js and its core principles, frameworks like Redux
- Familiarity with ECMAScript specifications
- Experience with front-end build pipelines and tools like Babel, Webpack, NPM, yarn, etc.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Experience in benchmarking and optimization
Additional Information
The role is a 6-month contract-to-hire position, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days a week onsite in Phoenix. The team values creating high-resiliency platforms and staying ahead in technology trends. A HackerRank test is required for this position.
