Job Description

This is an opportunity to build a company together. We are looking for a proactive/self-driven personality to join our start-up team building a super app. The position is part-time initially (20 hours/week) with the potential to transition to full-time once we launch late-2023. As a Backend Engineer, you will work on developing strong Typescript and Node.js skills, with a focus on REST API design and implementation.

Requirements

- Extensive experience as a Backend Engineer

- Strong Typescript and Node.js development skills

- Strong understanding of REST API design/implementation

- Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL

- Familiarity with AWS services such as Elastic Beanstalk, Batch, CloudFront, S3, and lambda

- Proficiency with Docker and container-based development in a Linux environment

- Analytical mindset with problem-solving aptitude

- Ability to work independently

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills

- Bonus: Experience with big data or geospatial data and services

Responsibilities

- Designing, building, and maintaining code

- Directing software development projects

- Testing and debugging code

- Leading engineers and developers in projects

- Optimizing web-based application performance

- Collaborating with front-end developers
