Job Description

Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Molten Audio provides sound, lights, video, and stages for over 200 concerts and events each year. We are actively growing and seeking an individual to join our team in producing events ranging from small meetings and local independent concerts, to large conferences and arena shows. Our foundation is audio but all technical skillsets are valuable. If you’re passionate about music, lights, or video, and helping clients produce amazing events, we’ve got a spot for you.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate audio consoles including Allen & Heath SQ5, Yamaha QL5, Behringer X32 and others, producing well-balanced mixes at appropriate volume.
  • Configure DMX lighting fixtures and operate Chamsys lighting consoles. Ability or desire to program shows a plus.
  • Design and implement technical solutions for small/recurring events.
  • Anticipate client needs and address technical problems that may occur. Troubleshoot quickly under pressure when needed.
  • Be or become proficient in presentation software including ProPresenter and PowerPoint.
  • Work with our proprietary event management software to load vans and trucks with equipment to support each event.
  • Other duties as assigned, of course.

Requirements

  • Event days will routinely exceed 8 hours and involve moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, crawling, and bending.
  • Some travel including overnight stays may be required to support events.
  • Keen visual and hearing senses are essential to AV duties.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Self-motivated with the drive to get the job done.
  • Reliable and concerned about team success.
  • Able to work with people and under pressure.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in some combination of live sound engineering, audio recording, audio/visual services, or related fields.
  • Experience in concert/event production, stage design, lighting design, or theatrical productions is valuable.
  • Must be technically competent with regard to signal flows, gain structure, DMX addressing, basic networking, and troubleshooting methods.

Additional Information

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
