Job Description

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and creating user-centered designs for Harris County’s websites and web applications under general direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing and developing user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
• Defining UI/UX and branding requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Improving the usability, usefulness, and desirability of websites.
• Implementing UI design elements with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Conducting user studies, usability tests, and providing interface consulting.
• Enhancing the appeal of the organization’s online offerings.
• Building interactive responsive websites on web content management platforms.
• Creating and editing content for website delivery projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a web designer/developer.
• Hands-on coding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like Bootstrap and Angular.
• Experience with responsive web design, web content management systems, and SEO compliance.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with WCAG 2.0 standards.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work individually and in teams.

Preferences

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience in an agile development environment.
• Experience working with .NET developers and modifying HTML/CSS in C# projects.

Additional Information

• Job Type: Temporary
• Pay: $65.00 per hour
• Experience Level: 4 years
• Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday
