Job Description and Duties

Under the Assistant Deputy Director of the Office of Communications, Education and Outreach, the Graphic Designer I is responsible for the development and production of complex graphic design work. The incumbent may assist the Graphic Designer III and other OCEO staff in the development and completion of design production. The Graphic Designer I uses computer-assisted applications for layout, illustration, image editing, graphics creation, and ADA remediation tasks.

Requirements

Work independently in a team setting. The ability to navigate sensitive information with discretion.

Working Conditions

This position is sedentary, indoors, primarily working at a computer during work hours. Requires use of a laptop, keyboard, touchpad daily. Occasionally requires the ability to work with printers, plotters and use laminators, cutting and measuring equipment. Visual acuity and color vision sufficient to successfully perform the job is required.

Demonstrated capacity for creativity, good design decision making and yielding personal creativity liberties to professional design standards. The ability to see and understand mutually beneficial outcomes across teams of people while recognizing potential biases.
