Job Description:

The Sr. Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and revising maintenance documents for aircraft, such as maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, non-destructive testing manuals, tool & equipment manuals, and component maintenance manuals. They will use engineering database information, drawings, and functional tests to provide detailed instructions for continued airworthiness of aircraft. The role also involves submitting work packages for illustrations, conducting quality checks, collaborating with teams, and validating maintenance procedures.

Requirements:

• Degree in an aviation related area or equivalent experience in authoring technical documents
• A&P license or military aviation maintenance experience with Technical Orders is a plus
• Understanding of engineering data and ability to research and analyze engineering drawings
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of aircraft operation, systems, maintenance practices, manufacturing, and guidelines
• Experience using SGML/XML, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, or equivalent tools
• Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $26.24 - $31.60 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
