I’m a creative and web developer dedicated to exploring ways in which our creative energy can be used to actualize a better future. For the past decade, I’ve worked on a variety of projects that have given me both a range of experience and the chance to specialize in a few areas that I think are a good fit for this role. I’ve worked independently as a freelancer, being involved in the entire process from ideation, to designing, to developing and then to releasing and supporting. This means I’ve had experience working with a team to set goals and roadmaps on what to build, I’ve dug into the PHP in WordPress to fix bugs, and I have experience strategizing ways to design a campaign. This has given me a wealth of technical skills over the years. From a coding background, I have worked on apps big and small—creating in WordPress, building on React and Node, or just tinkering with HTML/CSS/Javascript. I am also an experienced designer, both with print and digital design, primarily working in the Adobe Suite. I've done many Squarespace web design work, I design zines, flyers, posters, and social media design assets for artists, organizations, events, and more. Through Spellerberg Associates, a Wordpress agency that works with museums, I’ve done Wordpress training for employees, teaching them how to create pages, posts, and use Wordpress in general. It’s also given me experience working on large, data-heavy Wordpress sites, from the Museum of Contemporary Photography to the The Warhol Museum. Since many of these museums have very large websites, it’s given me experience working on a variety of implementations: working on SEO and Google optimizations, building out stores like Shopify or WooCommerce, managing donation and subscription platforms, building out mailing list funnels, adding Google Analytics, and more! I have also worked with SwayBrand, a startup focused on connecting brands with influencers. My work there included building the NodeJS backend, creating integrations for SMS/newsletter capabilities, and building a Vue frontend to connect to the backend app. As with any startup role, this job had me wearing many hats, from collaborating on the design to assisting in roadmapping.
