I was born and raised in the cozy suburbs of Chicago by my father, who spoke two languages. Cars and Computers. I recall fond memories of running ethernet cables through the house well before the word networking or CISCO even became common phrase. I can’t help but ponder on the days I’d stand in my father’s offices, big floppy slippers in tow, full of metal boxes with lots of lights and no clue what they were even for (routers). I learned MS DOS before I knew how to navigate a Macintosh. PC Magazine was the only literature outside of Highlights that I partook in. I built my first computer at 11 and boy could I kick the butt out of Mavis Beacon. Sadly, I never did win Oregon Trail. Did you? Clears throat… However, I knew from an early age that I wanted to grow up to be just like my Dad. Fast forward, a blink of an eye (I swear), and I have found myself a mother of two with a diverse background. From hijacking friends computers they're parents locked them out of for passwords through executables (we just wanted to get on Yahoo! Chat and Napster), to creating my first few Angelfire webpages from raw <html> (no copy/paste here), I knew I was destined to be an quirky, upbeat, introverted book worm who would rather spend her days and evenings learning between the trips to Lake Michigan and Lake Geneva than... than… than… wait, what did everyone else do all those years? Laughing… strangely enough, I have always came back to the my hobby of self-studied and taught little piece of center, called web development.
