Emily Robison is a choreographer, dancer, and teacher. She is an alum of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, and she is currently acquiring her BFA in dance at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas. In 2014, she was named one of Houston’s Top 100 Creatives for choreography and film. She has served as a panelist for Houston Arts Alliance’s Support for Individual Artists and Creatives grant application process. In addition, she has also worked as an intern for Dance Source Houston and Velocity Dance Center in Seattle, Washington. Emily has created a variety of live choreographic works and films that have been presented at Dance Gallery Festival, Barnstorm Dance Festival, {254} Dance Festival, Third Coast Dance Film Festival, and Strictly Seattle. Her choreography has received multiple nominations for “outstanding talent, craftsmanship, and artistry,” and her duet Futile Attempts at Saving the Already Forgotten was chosen for a choreography award from SHSU in April 2018. In addition to choreography, Robison has performed for notable artists such as Dana Nicolay, Andy Noble, Erin Reck, Andre Tyson, and Toni Valle. Most recently, she was a guest artist in Noble Motion’s show Catapult as a soloist in Last Flight Home. She is currently a ballet and contemporary dance teacher at MC Dance in Huntsville, Texas. Here she teaches weekly classes in these respective disciplines as well as choreographs for the senior and junior competition teams.
