Lucius Lowe
Manchester, United States

I have always had a love of music; from my earliest days I have memories of '70s commercial pop and collections of 60's pop and soul. Having spent most of my teenage years playing bass in the obligatory heavy metal band, around 1992 I caught the dance music bug and in 2001 I discovered a whole new concept of making music. My enthusiasm was fired, I bought a cheap PC and never looked back, spending the next few years honing my skills to the point where I felt I could inflict myself on the general public! Several new projects ensued, including my audio recording/production studio "Boogs Music" and my vocal house project "Jaxx n Lowe" in partnership with vocalist Jackie "Jaxx" Gillbert. In 2008 I decided to take things to the next level and launched Boogs Music as an independant house label. However, as my promotion and marketing techniques leave a lot to be desired (I'm a musician not a salesman!) this project eventually sank and I folded the label in order to once more concentrate on music production, the area where my true talent lies. The past ten years have seen me work with many varied artists including Ministry of Sound former resident Scott Langley, 2Drunk 2Funk, Didier Vanelli's Cameo Drive, LnM Projekt, Micro Esposito, Mario Haeld and the "Originator of House" Jesse Saunders. I currently work closely with vocal house legend Inaya Day, being one of her favoured producers I have co-written for and with her increasing portfolio of new talent including DeVonde Williams and Rasul A-Salaam. My remix of NY-O-Dae artist Masquerade's track "Higher" took the no.1 spot on Kings of Spins promo pool twice, peaking at no.12 on the Juno funky/club house chart, closely followed by DeVonde's "Jump in" and Rasul's "On the double" both seeing similar chart action. Inaya teamed my production skills to the vocal talent of Roz Brown, breathing life into lyrics by Rosalyn McClure and delivering "Blind to your love" into the eager hands of one of Europe's leading house labels Mjuzieek Digital, who took this classic disco house track to peak at no.11 in the soulful house chart and no.50 in the overall chart on Traxsource. This release has led to several high profile remixes on Mjuzieek including Bruno Kauffmann, MJ White, Maanjit and the legendary K Klass. Success breeds success and having raised my profile I attracted the attention of Miami-based Disco Balls Records, who signed me up for several remixes including work for Jerem A, J-Staff, Lay-Zee & Beatrix Delgado, Special Q and again MJ White. Being a generally all-round nice kinda guy, in 2014 I produced and wrote a charity record for Wildlife SOS and Sobel Promotions in aid of media sensation Raju the crying Elephant which saw considerable success on iTunes stores around the globe. This led to more charity work via Sobel Promotions including a track for Mark "Hollywood Beyond" Rogers and his Birmingham-based BANG foundation, helping underprivileged children find a better path in life through music. Other production credits include Mike Jolly & Coco "I need a miracle" Star, Aaron "Worlds Apart" Poole, SirPaul, Ari Gold and the legendary KC & the Sunshine Band. Looking ever forward, I recently teamed up with Bolton's Jacked crew, helping DJ Keith Laverty to produce the DeepDown radio show, broadcast live over the airwaves every friday night on www.chorley.fm. Keep your eyes & ears open for Jacked & myself at one of their exclusive house nights at premier venues across NW UK. I teamed up with local DJ Si Carvell to form duo "Si-Lo" with a view to producing more commercially appealing tracks, "Destination Ibiza" being the first planned release. With releases and remixes on Mjuzieek Digital, SUKA, Disco Balls, Yoo'Nek Records, Strictly Beatdown & more, new tracks and projects in the pipeline and fans the world over, the name "Lucius Lowe" is gathering momentum as a global brand, get on board - its a Lowe thing!

About a boy… Darkbloom (in real life Noam David Wright) is a singer-songwriter from Manchester, UK, with more than a few tales to tell. Raised in some of the roughest parts of city, as a teenager he narrowly escaped a lot of hot water. Channeling a heart full of anger, in 1997 he formed the infamous, and short-lived, punk band Breather, who released just one vinyl-only single (financed by Manic Street Preachers' management) before imploding in spectacular fashion. In his early 20’s, and in a right old mess, he'd had it with songwriting and took off abroad, over the next 10 years living and working in eight countries - Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Israel - where he did everything from getting arrested for bar fighting in Nairobi to becoming a voice-over actor for Italian cinema commercials to nursing acute dementia sufferers in rural New Zealand. After this all this, on returning to his home country, there was only one thing to do; become Jewish. His rich and multi-faceted songwriting has been praised by fellow musical greats such as Tom Robinson (TRB), John Bramwell (I am Kloot) and Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), as well as the late (Mr Manchester himself) Tony Wilson (Factory Records). The live acts of The Lotus are not only entertaining. They are catching, amazing and intriguing! The ability to find the right sounds and to create elaborate melodies is what gets The Lotus' audience into an inner journey. Rarefied and psychedelic atmospheres and impulsive explosions of groove and aggressiveness alternate each other. Who already appreciates bands such as Faith No More, Muse, Pink Floyd and Metallica cannot show indifference towards the unique mixture of The Lotus. This music doesn't put sound limits to its listeners, so it becomes the centre of an emotional sharing for the most varied audience. Since the year the musicians met (2005), The Lotus has been working on its own sounds in order to get it riper. In 2010 the first album Forgotten Silence was published. The band is currently composed of Rox Capriotti (vocals & keyboards), Luca De Falco (guitar), Kristal Cross (synths & programming), and Marco Lanciotti (drums). In June 2013 they released the EP named Tomorrow and the videoclip for the single Why Are Still We Living in the Yesterdays? . Their first publication was very well-acclaimed by the local and foreign presses. However, the new Tomorrow does not aim to maintain its stylistic continuity. At this time it approaches new experimental ways, which are going to catch both the music lovers' attention and everybody's inner tastes and spontaneousness. After exactly 2 years, The Lotus released their third work called "Awakening": a progressive ambient cinematic and psychedelic odyssey into the fears of the human brain. Mediate consist of singer Suzy Alexander and producer Ant Hickman. With influence drawn from the early house and garage sounds of Chicago, New York and Detroit, the results of this musical melding of minds old and new are accomplished, bold and distinctive tunes that hark back to the golden age of house music. 2014 was a great year for the duo with their debut 'Harder' EP released on Star Slinger's JetJam imprint. Championed and supported by Clean Bandit, Ben Pearce, Rob Da Bank (Radio 1), DJ EZ (Kiss FM), Kove and Tensnake to name a few. To follow this, they joined an impressive roster of names with the release of 'Everytime' on Love & Other. This was backed by the likes of Pete Tong, B Traits, BBC 1Xtra, TCTS, Monki, Huw Stephens and Mark Radford (Rinse FM). They graced the stages of Warehouse Project, Hideout Festival and with a residency at Canal Mills supported the likes of Disclosure, Rudimental, Gorgon City and Bondax. This year looks to be equally as forward moving with the release of 'What You Do' on Love & Other with early support from Eton Messy. Off the back of this they have confirmed bookings alongside Hannah Wants, Mak & Pasteman and at Hideout Festival and Croatia Rocks They are currently preparing a live show, writing lots of new material for forthcoming releases, working on collaborations and remixes to make a bigger impact in 2015.

In the process of making music, producing an instrumental, putting lyrics together, creating melodies and harmonic arrangements, I have been able to connect with myself, my emotions, thoughts and put those connections into my art. When I first started out at this, I was struggling to create ‘THAT SOUND’ that I thought I needed to create. That sound wasn’t MY Sound. I would spend hours trying to mimic the sounds of my favourite artists and producers and in the process of doing so, I picked up some great skills but I never really paid attention to what I was able to do for myself without needing to mimic anybody else. The key to this music game is to be original and stay true to yourself. If I were to have followed a trend and mimic something that already existed, what was I really creating? False art? Did I really want to be perceived as being an imitation of somebody else who is already out there doing their thing? No. My portfolio displays an array of genres that I experiment with and I'm looking to work with as much talent as I can to produce some incredible music! Follow, Re-Clowd, Like & Message Me.

With their new release - ‘Meet the Sky’ - (https://www.twine.fm/signin Crosswinds present twelve tracks of sophisticated pop infused with elements of funk, jazz, blues and rock. From the opening chord onwards, the UK-Canadian band serves up a rich musical soundscape that binds together stories of tangled lives, loves and hopes. Anchored by Joe Wee’s silky acoustic guitar and soulful vocals, and embellished with Marcus Taylor’s stylish leads, the album balances compelling songwriting with tasteful musicianship. Within the melting pot of influences that combine for Crosswinds musical vision, you can catch hints of Steely Dan, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler and Paul Simon among others. Signature tunes include ‘Spicy’, with its catchy melody, funky groove and tasteful guitar licks, and the title track ‘Meet the Sky’, with its haunting folk-rock vibe, soaring vocals and dynamic solo. A product of eight years intensive collaboration, the album is ably backed by Matt Snowden’s groove-driven drums and the layered supporting vocals of Ben Bell, David Boardman and David Ari Leon. It reflects on a period in which both Joe and Marcus have followed their personal and professional lives to different sides of the Atlantic, yet remain committed to a musical collaboration that is unbroken since they first began composing songs together in the late 1990s.

Lempo aka Mike McGuinness is a Manchester-based house music producer and international DJ. Having made a name for himself as long-term resident DJ at Manchester heavyweights ‘Bitch Events’, he’s now a sought-after name in the club scene across the globe thanks to his CDJ wizardry, seamless mixing and unique track selections. As well as previously hosting his own radio shows on Unity Radio and Cheshire FM – is there nothing this guy can’t do! Lempo has performed for major club brands including Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Pacha, The Warehouse Project, and Sankeys – to name a few! He’s also become a seasoned pro on the white isle of Ibiza and a regular fixture on the festival circuit, with performances at Mint Festival and Parklife. But he doesn’t always take centre stage. He’s had the honour, and personal pleasure, of supporting artists from Snoop Dogg, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Rudimental, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex and Hardwell. Along with his hectic tour schedule, Lempo can always be found in the studio working on his own productions. He’s signed to many prestigious record labels including CR2 Records and Susu Music. Lempo launched his own imprint ‘Applique Music’ in 2011, which is fast-becoming one of the most respectable UK labels for the underground. Collaborations with artists such as Artful (The original Artful Dodger and producer of Craig David’s ‘Born To Do It’ album), K-Klass, Will Gold, Nancy Sinatra and Canadian superstar, MC Flipside, have boosted Lempo’s production credentials with several number ones under his belt. Consistent chart success on iTunes, Beatport and JunoDownload has gained support and plugs from BBC Radio One and Capital FM. But it helps to have support from industry peers which he’s had over the years from the likes of Pete Tong, Laidback Luke, Prok & Fitch, Kissy Sell Out, Claude Von Stroke, Eric Morillo and Roger Sanchez. It’s safe to say the Lempo steam train shows no sign of slowing down with a monthly residency for Ministry Of Sound and an equally exciting release schedule to boot… It’s definitely a case of Lempo turning up the tempo!

Make films? I make interesting soundtracks, give me a shout! One half of psych-folk renegades The Witch And The Robot. Purveyor of songs, soundtracks and instrumental meanderings.
