Advantage Media Group | ForbesBooks has an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Graphic Designer with experience in book cover and interior design. Advantage works with top tier business professionals to position, promote, and market them as the thought leader and expert in their industry, community, or marketplace.

The Freelance Graphic Designer is to design book covers and interiors for a wide variety of clients from concept to completion. You must be a highly creative, innovative designer capable of producing book cover designs that rival the quality of any business book found on the front table at Barnes & Noble. The Freelance Graphic Designer will be responsible for multiple book projects across all phases of execution, have over the top attention to detail, and deliver world class customer service.

Each book we publish serves as a calling card for our professional clients. Their reputation is judged by the quality of their book. You must continually strive to improve the creative design process and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and creative environment.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related major
• Minimum of two years graphic design working experience
• Experience in the book publishing industry a plus
• Thorough understanding of graphic design, design principles, layout, composition, and color
• A high degree of conceptual creativity for book cover design, interior layout, and acute attention to detail. Must be able to multitask.
• Experience with Kindle, Nook and iBook epub files
• Detailed knowledge and technical proficiency with offset and print on demand book printing and prepress requirements
• Mastery of skills with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

Candidates will be required to show a portfolio, demonstrating relevant experience and skills.
